Lady Gaga Donates $500,000 To Help LGBTQ+ Youth, Including Have A Gay Day In Ohio

Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation has matched the funds raised during the month of June, donating nearly $500,000 towards LGBTQ+ organizations around the United States.

The Grammy and Oscar-winning singer’s Born This Way Foundation raised $248,479.40 in June and matched the funds to a total of $496,958.80 to over 132 organizations, including one in the Dayton, Ohio area.

Have A Gay Day, one of the largest LGBTQ+ nonprofits on social media, is one of the grateful CenterLink organizations set to receive a contribution later this month from the Born This Way Foundation.

“We are honored to be a part of Centerlink and are so thankful for the work that the Born This Way Foundation does for the LGBTQ+ community,” said Have A Gay Day’s Founder and Executive Director, Michael Knote.

Lady Gaga’s Foundation connects young people to resources and organizations that support mental health of young people.

“These local LGBTQ+ organizations are on the front lines of their communities, making a significant difference in youth mental health across the country every single day, and we are honored to invest in their work,” Cynthia Germanotta, President, and Co-Founder of Born This Way Foundation says. “At Born This Way Foundation, we know young people must be connected with care, affirmation, and accessible resources that meet their needs. We’re proud to work with CenterLink on this mission, as it cannot be overstated how important it is to fund these local organizations providing urgent support for the LGBTQ+ community.”

According to the Born This Way Foundation and partnership with CenterLink, they are “proud to support emerging LGBTQ+ organizations that are making the world a kinder and more supportive place for all young people.”

“CenterLink is incredibly appreciative of Born This Way Foundation’s partnership and support of LGBTQ community centers,” Denise Spivak, CEO of CenterLink says. “These centers provide essential and often life-saving services to their communities every day and are often the only staffed non-profit LGBTQ presence in the area, and the first point of contact for people seeking information, coming out, accessing services, or organizing for social change. We applaud Born This Way Foundation for uplifting and benefiting these organizations, especially during these critical times, and look forward to continuing to work together.”
